Compete with yourself

Compete with yourself

What would happen if you drove your car with the brakes on??

Compete with yourself and release the breaks that are holding you back your success. You had never gone full speed because the breaks would offer resistance. Your car would over heat and breakdown. If it didn’t breakdown, the resistance would strain the engine.

To get to your destination you would have to make one of two choices: you would either press the accelerator harder and risk damage or release the breaks to make the car go faster. This analogy is good parallel to life because many of us go through life with our emotional breaks on. What are the brakes?

They are the factors that prevent you from achieving success- fear, procrastination, lack of pride and so forth.

As Schultz once said “Life is like a ten-speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use”.

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal. Progressive means that success is a journey and not a destination. Realization means it is an experience. Existence alone is not success! It’s a lot more…

  • Do more than exist-live.
  • Do more than touch-feel.
  • Do more than look-observe.
  • Do more than read-absorb.
  • Do more than hear-listen.
  • Do more than listen-understand.

These are the golden mantras that will help in competing with ourselves and bring out the best within us. We don’t need to improve 100% in any one area. All you need is to improve 1% in 100 different areas, which is a lot easier. That is the winning miracle- the winning edge!!
